Internal open home tips

  • Turn all interior lights on

  • Clean windows and make sure they are closed

  • Make sure curtains are pulled back and straight. Pull blinds all the way up

  • All kitchen and bathroom tops are clear and cleaned, and sinks are empty

  • Take magnets and personal items off the fridge

  • Remove products from the shower and ensure the toilet seat is down

  • Dirty laundry put away out of sight

  • Declutter and remove personal photos and other personalised items.

  • Neatly make beds and smooth out linen

  • General tidy of home — vacuum, clean mirrors, clean bathroom, etc

Exterior open home tips

  • Doors opened out to all outdoor areas

  • Outdoor umbrella covers off, up if in a large space. Remove garden equipment, tools, bins, and play items. Park cars out on the road or in the garage

  • Barbecue covers remove, if presentable

  • Lawns mowed, edges trimmed, and gardens tidied. The exterior of the home and the windows were washed

  • Paths swept and waterblasted (if needed)

  • Add outdoor cushions or decor accessories if wanted. Clean the pool, if applicable

  • Turn outdoor lights on for twilight photos
